Friendships

Friendship is an endearing quality that one has to support, share, and be part of...be it human or animal. It is a word we use almost every day without thinking about its meaning. Merriam Webster's definition is: A state of being friend: One attached to another by affection or esteem.

Many of us are blessed by the multitude of friends that we received over the many years of our lives. How deep is friendship? Some are short term and others are long term friends who have been down that road with us...the road of hard knocks and huge bumps.

Those of you who have loving animals as part of your life have experienced the devotion shown through the eyes or actions of your pet. Animals are a comfort and joy, and their friendship is total. When a pet is lost, a member of the family is gone.

The following is from an unknown author in the "Editor's Scrapbook, Favorite Quotes from IDEALS:

Friendship is not merely one of life's ornaments. It is one of the very essentials upon which life is founded. To have true friends is not a matter of chance. We have them solely because our character and actions are of such high standards that men (and animals) are drawn toward us, just as steel filings leap toward the magnet.

I ask my friends, readers, and cohorts, how do you feel about your friendships? Come visit and leave a comment. I would love to hear from you.

I've received the Honest Scrap Award from a blogging friend who has asked me to share with you ten honest scraps about myself. My friend, Morgan Mandel has no idea how hard this is for me to share these scraps with you. I have to dig real deep. So as I sit here pondering this assignment, why not visit Morgan's site by clicking on her name.

Now to get serious about this requirement.

My ten honest scraps about myself:
